The Role
We are known by a lot of titles: Sales Engineers, Solution Engineers, or simply Presales Engineers. But the core of what we are is trusted advisors, technical experts, domain specialists, value consultants, challengers, and thought leaders.
As a member of the Presales team, the Sales Engineer reports to the Head of Sales Engineering team and partners with sales to lead the pre-sales technical cycle, providing deep product and industry knowledge to ensure the successful execution of our sales strategy.. A successful track record selling a technical product to Enterprise and Mid Market companies and presenting value based use cases, data, and presentations to C-level executives is important to this role. As such, Sales Engineers will be curious, creative thinkers who are domain specialists and technically astute.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $118,125-$157,500. Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities:
- Support the sales team in the pre-sales process, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic resource to customer and prospect with technical expertise, use cases, and customer stories
- Own and align technology solutions and product demonstrations to complex, stakeholder business problems through engaging presentations
- Develop an understanding of Productiv's products, services, and use cases, and demonstrate a command of the product and how feature sets translate to prospect's requirements
- You have participated in sales cycles by leading RFI, RFPs, Security questionaries through to managing Pilots and Proof of Concepts.
- You have experience telling engaging stories that both demonstrate our product's value and bring our solution to life.
- You are agile, with a love of thinking on your feet and a knack of steering conversations involving a variety of different stakeholders, from end-users to the C-Suite.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience leading customer-facing discovery sessions, technical presentations, proof of concepts, and solution demos to stakeholders across different departments
- Customer empathy and navigation, ability to recognize and extract customer goals while steering the path towards the fastest time to value
- Experience building long-lasting customer relationships and working across diverse teams
- Compelling and engaging presentations skills with the ability to adapt and out of box thinking
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to balance complex technical concepts with business values

- General familiarity with API, Enterprise Security, SAML, oAuth, InfoSec, SOC2, GDPR, and the latest security and compliance standards IT departments are typically concerned about
- Experience with billing and procurement applications ( NetSuite, Coupa and Ironclad)
- Familiarity with procurement and billing/AP space
- Experience working with or understanding of SaaS applications (Salesforce, Okta and Zendesk)
