Position Summary:
Our Solutions Engineer will report to the Manager, Solutions Engineering and will join a team of extremely technical individuals with a focus on handling complex issues, solving time-sensitive problems, and delivering robust solutions to Deepwatch. You will implement security content vision and work with the team to build defensive services to mature cyber security goals. You will add to cybersecurity use case creation, automation, and maintenance. In this role, you are directly responsible for the security content library that is deployed to each customer that receives the Deepwatch MDR service.
In this role, you’ll get to:
- Analyze, develop, and curate cybersecurity use cases
- Implement detection content that leverages risk based scoring
- Contribute to Splunk Custom TA Development
- Take complex data requirements and create a clear path of delivery
- Construct flexible logic-based detection and analytics rules and detection methods
- Analyze and adapt use cases to new threats, vulnerabilities, technologies, techniques, and methods
- Write documentation about the preparation, implementation, and tuning/maintenance of cybersecurity use cases
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to:
- Possess knowledge of security threats, including malware, hacking techniques, and attack vectors
- Have a background or training in Security Operations - correlating, analyzing, and reporting on security threats
- Be proficient with Splunk SPL
- Be an expert in integrating data from many different systems and in creating Splunk content and knowledge objects
- Develop behavior and signature based detections
- Have a good understanding of MITRE ATT&CK, CIS, and NIST frameworks
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of scripting languages: Bash, Python or Javascript OR be willing to learn
- Exhibit experience with software version control (e.g. git), modeling and documenting software systems and business processes, and experience in service design methodologies
- Be passionate about being part of a great team and client satisfaction
- Have a natural inclination to demand thoughtfulness in everything you build, even while building fast and adapting plans as we grow
- Determine the best tools for a given problem and be curious about learning new technologies

Statutory Pay Disclosure:
For applicants in NYC, CO, CA, RI, and WA, the salary range for this role is $100,000 to $150,000 + stock options + benefits. Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
