Solutions Engineer
Job Summary
At TransLoc, Solutions Engineers are technical product experts and empathetic client advocates who help our transit clients understand and solve problems using our mobility tools. Solutions Engineers support our Sales team with public transportation and product knowledge. They also leverage their knowledge to provide advanced, technical professional services for customers, such as on-site trainings and consulting with clients to ensure they are maximizing the use of our products to meet their operational needs.

Core Responsibilities
- Provide support to our Sales and RFP teams as a technical expert
- Research client context and develop relationships with client stakeholders
- Understand customer business challenges, needs, and objectives; use customer data to help them get the most out of our products through demonstration and support
- Run technical product demonstrations
- Deliver professional services, such as fixed-route analysis, service cost analysis, and on-demand service design, on time and on budget
- Develop new professional services offerings based on industry knowledge and customer feedback
What you bring to the role:
Education
Knowledge
- 2-5 years’ experience in a client-facing role, or relevant experience in the transportation industry
- 2-5 years’ experience managing multiple time-bound projects at a time
- Previous experience giving technical demonstrations of SaaS products, preference for candidates who have also demonstrated hardware
- Foundation in data analysis and visualization including MS Excel spreadsheets
- Experience working with a CRM e.g., Salesforce
Skills and Abilities
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to educate others by breaking down complex processes
- Ability to understand customers’ stated and unstated needs in order to provide effective solutions
- Ability to diffuse customer frustration
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in transit, the public sector, or a university setting
- Experience in project management or consulting
- Experience in customer service or technical sales in SaaS (Software as a Service)
- Experience in procurement, especially for the public sector
- Experience in writing or reviewing RFPs
Work Environment
- TransLoc is a hybrid-remote workplace combining in-office and remote work to varying degrees based on the role requirements
- This position requires traveling up to 25% of the time for client visits or conferences
