Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Director of Sales Engineering and Customer Success, we are looking for an experienced Sales Engineer to join our growing Commercial team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for working collaboratively with the Connectbase Sales organization to develop early-stage opportunities and help to strategically progress the deals through the later stages of pipeline activity. You will serve as the technical product expert to the market as well as internally with the Sales, Customer Success, Customer Operations, Marketing, and Product teams.
Primary Responsibilities, including not limited to
- Support the Sales team in closing active deals by developing and delivering technical product demonstrations as well as articulating the product’s value and fit to the customer or prospect
- In collaboration with the Sales organization, drive the discovery process throughout the sale process to uncover, define and understand the customer or prospect’s requirements and work to create alignment with the Connectbase solutions
- Lead and participate in Proof-of-Concept engagements as well as RFIs / RFPs
- Identify improvements needed to Connectbase suite of products based on market interactions and work closely with Product and Engineering to scope potential resolutions
- Provide strategic input and guidance on the Product Innovation roadmap
- Regularly review process improvements, introducing, developing and/ or enhancing tools and processes for the Sales Engineering team as we scale
- Work collaboratively with Marketing and Sales to influence product messaging and positioning
Working Skills & Experience Requirements
- 5+ years of Sales Engineer experience in the business-to-business space with a proven track record of success in closing large deals
- Driven, proactive and positive attitude with the desire to accomplish, learn and grow
- Significant experience developing product demonstrations, with demonstrable engaging product demonstration skills
- Capable of quickly pick up on new technology
- Excellent presentation capabilities with the ability to have productive conversations with senior executives both verbally and in written form
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Experience working productively with Sales, Customer, Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams
- Experience in network & telecommunications space required. Strong knowledge in API’s and integration is a plus, as is Channel experience.
- Occasional travel (under 20%) is expected.
